Freepik is now Magnific, and the Freepik AI image generator did not shut down. It got renamed. On April 28, 2026, Freepik rebranded the whole company as Magnific. freepik.com/pricing now redirects to magnific.com/pricing, and contributor.freepik.com redirects to contributor.magnific.com. The old free account came across with it, though what the free tier lets you sell is a separate question from what it lets you make.

The older Pro plan at €230 a month (€172.50 annually) no longer appears on the page. Pro Starter is now the top individual plan, and I could not see a separate price for its 4M-credit option. Premium+ is still the tier that gets pushed hardest, and it’s the one where the marketing needs a translation.
“Unlimited” is real but selective. On the October 7 pricing page, Premium lists no unlimited models. Premium+ lists unlimited Nano Banana 2 at 1K and Kling 2.5, and Nano Banana Pro is not among them. Pro Starter lifts Nano Banana 2 to 2K, and its 4M option adds Nano Banana Pro. The unlimited flag sits on one image size, not the whole model: Nano Banana 2 at 4K still costs credits. Most video models and the 4K image models burn credits on every plan. If you signed up expecting to run 4K video generation all month for €27, that is not the deal. Read which models carry the unlimited flag before you commit to an annual plan, because the annual discount is only a discount if you actually use the tier.
That’s my main criticism of the pricing page, and it’s a real one: “unlimited” sits in large type and the model-by-model detail sits in a comparison table below it.

What Magnific actually is
Strip the branding and Magnific is a front end over other people’s models. What that means for the price you pay is the whole of our Magnific AI review.
The current image lineup includes Seedream 5.0 Pro, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, Flux.2 Pro, Recraft V4.1, and Grok, and the pricing page advertises savings on 30-plus models in total, with a longer list of video models beside them. Those are the same frontier models you can reach through kie.ai, fal.ai, or the vendors directly, and I priced all of them against each other in the AI image generator comparison.
So the honest framing is this: you are not buying a model. You are buying access, bundling, and a browser interface. Whether that’s worth €27 to €36 a month depends entirely on how you work.

The break-even moves with your model mix. At roughly $0.09 per image you clear the subscription cost somewhere near 450 images a month. At $0.032 you need closer to 1,200. Most stock batches mix cheap no-people models with expensive people models, so the practical line sits around 600 to 800 images a month.
Under that line, per-image APIs are cheaper. Over it, the subscription wins and you stop watching a meter while you iterate on prompts. The model rendering difference nobody warns you about
I generate Nano Banana Pro images every week through Google Flow and through Kie.ai (ad) for the stock pipeline, and Magnific lists that same model name without producing the same output. Platforms wrap models in their own prompt handling, their own default parameters, and sometimes their own post-processing, so a prompt tuned on one route does not transfer cleanly to another. My Flow prompts for Nano Banana Pro lean on explicit lighting and constraint lines, and pasting those unchanged into a different host reliably gives me a different image, usually with flatter lighting and a looser read on the constraint. The practical consequence is that your prompt library is not portable. If you build a set of prompts that works on Magnific and then move production to an API for cost reasons, budget real time to re-tune every one of them before you count the savings.
That migration cost is the thing that makes the “learn cheap here, scale cheap there” advice less tidy than it sounds. It’s still the right sequence. Just know you’re paying for it once.

Pay for Magnific if: you generate more than about 600 images a month, you want the upscalers bundled rather than bought separately, you don’t want to write or maintain any code, or you’re already buying the asset library for client work. The commercial licence and the upscaler bundle are the parts that genuinely save money versus assembling the same stack piecemeal, though we ran the numbers on that bundle in the Magnific AI upscaler teardown and the case is narrower than the plan page suggests.
Skip it if: you generate in batches on a schedule, you already have a working API pipeline, or your volume sits under a few hundred images a month. At that volume you’re paying a subscription to avoid an afternoon of setup, and the per-image APIs will cost you a fraction of it.
Start on the free tier either way. The reported 20 images a day is enough to find out whether the interface fits your head before any money moves. That’s not a small allowance, and it’s the honest first step regardless of which side of the line you land on.

Generation is one step. For stock it’s rarely the step that costs you the most time.
