Using AutoKeyWorder on Shutterstock

On submit.shutterstock.com, AutoKeyWorder writes the description, between 7 and 50 keywords, and picks up to two categories, then types them into the submission form. It stops adding keywords when the image runs out of true ones instead of padding to 50, which is what Shutterstock's spam filter rejects.

Step by step

  1. Upload to the contributor portal and open the first file in the "Not submitted" list.
  2. Click the AutoKeyWorder icon, press Process All. The description, keywords and categories appear in the form.
  3. Set editorial or commercial yourself, add releases if people or property are visible.
  4. Submit with Shutterstock's button.

Why fewer keywords

Shutterstock rejects batches whose keyword lists repeat the same generic stack across images. The extension writes what is in the picture and puts the subject first. If you want the full 50, add the rest by hand. Seven Shutterstock keyword tools tested shows the rejection pattern.

Credits and price

1 credit per image, 3 per video (9 frames sampled). 50 free credits on signup. $3.99 for 100, $9.99 for 1,000, $39.99 for 5,000, or from $6.99 a month. Full table.

What it does not do

  • No CSV export. It fills the form on the page you have open.
  • No FTP upload.
